David Dodson

I’m David, and aside from being incredibly witty, I’m also a fantastic tutor.

I finished Year 12 in 2022, graduating from Trinity Grammar School with a perfect ATAR of 99.95. This accomplishment was complemented by three perfect scores of 50 in English, English Literature, and History: Revolutions. Having achieved these surprisingly good results, I decided to put my talents to use and study something pragmatic, which is why I accepted a Tuckwell Scholarship to study a Bachelor of Arts at the Australian National University.

I’m not afraid to admit that Year 12 was a bit of a challenge. There were lots of things to balance, an avalanche of activities ranging from schoolwork to sports. At first, I had basically no downtime, mainly due to my inability to maintain any sort of focus. But across the year I improved my attentiveness, learning all sorts of tricks and techniques that proved valuable amidst the high-octane stress of exams. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to impart some of these techniques upon prospective students, in addition to my knowledge of English and Mathematics.

When I’m not tutoring my students, I love to run, read, and cook. I’m a big fan of tennis and basketball, both of which I play pretty badly. I like to think of myself as a cultured person, which basically means that I spend a lot of time watching obscure films and listening to obscure music, all in the hope that I seem rather exquisite or cool.

Throughout 2023, I’ll be available for online tutoring (due to my likely residence in Canberra), with occasional periods available for in-person tutoring during term holidays in Melbourne. I’m offering tutelage for VCE English and English Literature and am happy to read any texts that I do not mention and prepare similar resourcesto those of the texts below.
